Fermentation is a natural process that generates beneficial bacteria and fungi (probiotics), which support the balance of intestinal flora and positively influence the production of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which regulate our mood.

'Kombucha'

A fermented tea, rich in organic acids, enzymes and probiotics, helps stimulate gastric juices and improves intestinal motility. Regular consumption can strengthen the intestinal mucosal barrier and reduce unnecessary sensitivities, bringing a feeling of ease and bodily calm.

Kefir

This fermented milk drink contains dozens of strains of good bacteria and fungi, which restore the balance of the microbiome after the use of antibiotics or low-fiber diets. Improving the bacterial flora with kefir helps in the local production of serotonin—a “happiness hormone”—and improves overall mood.

Fermented cabbage

Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and fiber, fermented cabbage provides probiotics that colonize the large intestine. The presence of these bacteria helps in better absorption of nutrients and the production of butyric acid, a source of energy for intestinal cells, which also affects emotional stability.

Impact on mood

When the balance of intestinal flora is healthy, about 90% of the body's serotonin is synthesized in the gut. Therefore, by prioritizing fermented foods, we not only improve digestion and immunity, but also reduce anxiety, improve sleep quality, and increase the feeling of well-being.

How to consume them

To get the most out of it, start with small amounts (1–2 tablespoons of sauerkraut, 100 ml of kefir or 100 ml of kombucha) and gradually increase. Adjust the types according to personal tolerance, alternating drinks with fermented vegetables at different meals.

Integrating kombucha, kefir, and fermented cabbage into the daily diet brings stronger intestinal balance and a more stabilized mood, creating a solid foundation for our daily health and energy.
