Renowned Italian actor Remo Girone passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 76.

Girone became famous for his role as Gaetano “Tano” Cariddi in the legendary crime series “La Piovra” (“The Octopus”), where he played with intensity and strength of character one of the most complex figures of the television mafia. He became a symbol of power, ambition and the inner darkness that a man carries when power consumes him.

During his career, Girone excelled in both theater and cinema, leaving behind dozens of roles that stand out for their depth and emotion. The role of Tano Cariddi remains among the most memorable in the history of Italian television, making his name synonymous with an era.

The art world misses an actor with a rare presence and characterful voice, but Remo Girone's legacy will live long — in the memory of the public and on the screens he lit up with his talent.
