A tragedy has taken place in the family of the famous Tarzan actor. Actor Ron Ely's son allegedly stabbed and killed his 62-year-old mother before being fatally executed by police at his home in Santa Barbara Tuesday night. According to local authorities, Ely's wife, Valerie Lundeen Ely, was found with stab wounds inside the home after police responded to reports of a family disturbance, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect, 30-year-old Cameron Ely, was found hiding outside the home. Authorities said he was an immediate threat, causing four police officers to open fire and fatally injure him.
In fact, Cameron allegedly called the police 'crying' over the phone, claiming his father had shot his mother.
It is still unclear if Ely was home at the time of the incident.
Ely, now 81, had a range of television roles in the 1960s, but her most famous role is as "Tarzan", which aired from 1966 to 1968.
He also had recurring or guest roles in notable shows such as "The Boat Love," "Wonder Woman," and a revival of "Sea Hunt" in the 1980s.
