Wages are considered a taboo subject, and there is rarely a direct conversation about them. It is difficult to know what the average monthly salary is in your area or city where you live.
Deutsche Bank officially released its annual Worldwide Payroll Mapping report last week and the figures were pretty open.
Analyzing everything from average rental and housing costs across the globe to the price of a pack of cigarettes in each individual country, the report looked at every detail to determine the most powerful cities in the world.
One of the factors the report looked at was the average earnings figures, ranking the top 10 cities with the highest average wage.
It is actually surprising that most of the places on the list are metropolitan cities, with rental prices and pretty expensive food, but apparently their salaries support these monthly costs.
Here are the 10 cities that have the highest average wages in the world ...
1. Zurich, Switzerland - 5,311 euros
2. San Francisco, USA - 4,356 euros
3. Boston, USA - 3,906 euros
4. New York, USA - 3,645 euros
5. Chicago, USA - 3,274 euros
6. Sydney, Australia - 3,022 euros
7. Melbourne, Australia - 3,019 euros
8. Oslo, Norway - 2,850 euros
9. Singapore - 2,780 euros
