Elon Musk has surpassed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to take the title of richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg.
A 6% increase in shares of Tesla (TSLA) on Thursday, raised the value of its CEO's shares by $ 10 billion, bringing its net worth to about $ 191 billion. A more modest increase, by less than 2%, raised Bezos shares in Amazon (AMZN) by about $ 3 billion, bringing his fortune to $ 187 billion.

Bill Gates is now the third richest man in the world, with 132 billion dollars, according to Bloomberg.
Bezos' stake in Amazon increased by $ 75 billion in 2020, to $ 173.3 billion, given the huge increase in sales from the Covid-19 pandemic.
But that was nothing compared to Musk's holdings at Tesla. The 170 million shares of Tesla he owns grew by $ 106 billion during 2020, while the shares grew by 743% during the year.
Musk overtook Gates for the title of second richest person in the world at the end of November, but Tesla shares have risen in value by 45% since then, increasing Musk's fortune by $ 53 billion over the two months last.
