Actor Ernie Lively, who left behind a nearly 50-year acting career, has passed away at the age of 74. In addition to being a beloved actor, he was also Blake Lively's father and played her father on screen in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

Lively died yesterday in Los Angeles, following a cardiac arrest.

Born on January 29, 1947 in Baltimore, Lively married talent manager Elaine Lively in 1979. He is the father of Eric Lively, 39, and Blake Lively, 33, and stepfather of Lori Lively, 54, Jason Lively, 53. years old, Robyn Lively, 49 years old, who all followed in his footsteps to become actors.

During his long career, Lively appeared in films such as "Shocker" in 1989, "The Man in the Moon" in 1991, "Passenger 57" in 1992, "Looking Glass" in 2018 in addition to appearances. TV shows "The Dukes of Hazzard", "The X-Files", "Renegade" and "The West Wing". One of his first well-deserved roles is in a 1975 episode of "The Waltons."
