Man Ray, the icon of surrealism,'s "Violin of Ingres", may become the most expensive photograph ever sold in history.

The black and white image shot in 1924 by Ray, is known for the strong emotional feeling it conveys, being considered the symbolic work of the American artist.

The stylized female body in the form of a violin, modeled by Kiki de Montparnasse is undoubtedly an image that many have encountered while surfing the internet or in books, but few know the tremendous value that this photograph has taken over the years.

It is expected to reach the figure of 5-7 million dollars in the auction that will be organized by the auction company "Christie's" in May 2022, thus breaking all forecasts.

The current record for a photo sold at auction is held by Andreas Gursky's "Rhine II", which was sold by the same company for a staggering $ 4.3 million in 2011.
